This is the last song I wrote for the album, it’s very emo. In this song I confess that I am not as cool/breezy/mentally tough as I try to be over the course of the album. On the song Throw Me Off A Cliff, I say that I’m cool with dating briefly and breaking up because at least we had a few good times. And in Bookmark Cutie I say “she got in a good school and I was totally happy for her”. This song is me realizing that these losses hurt me much more than I would like others to know. I’m am just a man, who can hurt like everyone else, as much as I’d like to think otherwise.
lyrics
You don’t care about what I’m listening to
Or all the songs I write for you
I’m consumed
With the most beautiful girl in the room
—-You call me on the phone
I wish that it was true love
I’m pulling out my hair
Life isn’t fair enough as it is
—If you were stranded
I’d rush to pick you up
and take you home to see my mom
She loves you, like i do, dream come true
—-You call me on the phone
I wish that it was true love
I’m pulling out my hair
Life isn’t fair enough as it is
You call me on the phone
I wish that it was true love
I’m pulling out my hair
Life isn’t fair enough as it is
Fuck
What the fuck do I do?
This is harder than I thought
Oh my god
Fuck
What the fuck do I do?
She’s moving on
Oh my god
(Reverse vocals as the singer descends into despair )
Tamar Berk pairs trenchant autobiographical lyrics with brittle guitars for songs that will win over fans of early Liz Phair. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2022
Bouncy, jangly power pop with a slash of acidic shadow, as the very best twee always has. From Boston, they met at band camp (not Bandcamp). Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 2, 2019
